Monthly Wrap-Up – June 2023: Creature Of Habit

Once again, I started this month with some lofty reading goals, but as I sit down to write this it feels like I read Piranesi, the first book in this wrap-up, months ago. Somehow, though, it was in June, and I got through 3 books this month (as usual), including one that I highly recommend, and I’m excited to give my thoughts on them.

Monthly Wrap-Up – May 2023: When Tears of The Kingdom Calls

Even though I had high hopes for my reading this month, I’m unsurprised that I managed to read a measly two books. Last month, when I was hopeful, it slipped my mind that the game The Legend of Zelda: Tears on the Kingdom would be released on 12 May, and after that, my reading was practically non-existent. Rather than find a good balance between reading and gaming, I threw myself into Tears of the Kingdom to indulge in nostalgia, and I don’t regret it one bit.

Monthly Wrap-Up – April 2023: Short and Sweet

This month, I read three books that were all relatively new to my TBR, so maybe next month I’ll end up doing the opposite. Reading three books a month has always been my sweet spot, and though I wish I could pick up the pace to keep on track with my 50-book goal for 2023, I’m sure I’ll make up for it in the future… maybe. As usual, there’s a decent range in the genres I read, two of which I enjoyed and one that I’m still not sure about.

Monthly Wrap-Up – March 2023: Adventuring into my Discomfort Zone

March was another great month of reading for me. Once again, what I lacked in the volume of books I read was made up for by their quality. I read four books this month, one of which I have chosen not to include in the wrap-up, but I promise I read it and that it was amazing! It was a month of stepping outside of my comfort zone and dipping into some good recommendations, and thankfully I was not left disappointed.

Monthly Wrap-Up – February 2023: A Tale of Two Halves

This month has been a tale of two halves. I started off in the mood for crime and mystery and ended it in the spirit of romance (which had nothing to do with a certain holiday in the middle). It’s strange that I did not notice this until sitting down to complete my wrap-up for February, but I guess that’s the point of these posts: to reflect on my reading for the month.

Monthly Wrap-up – January 2023: New Year, Same Me

Despite having high hopes for the number of books I want to get around to reading this year, I’ve already created a lot of work for future me. Ideally, I would have read four books this month, but I’ve only managed to read three (well, two novels and a play). While the quality was incredibly high, and one of them had over 500 pages, I’m still a little bit annoyed with myself. However, it’s only the first month of the year and I have plenty of time to catch up.

Monthly Wrap-Up – December 2022: Not Quite Reaching my Goals

In the latter half of this year, reading only two books a month has been my only trick and it has not proved very useful for the reading goal I picked for this year, which I set at 40 books and missed by four. Though I’m a little annoyed by how close I was, I read more than I did last year, which was the goal, so I’m content with a humble 36.

Monthly Wrap-up – November 2022: A Romantic Pairing

Though I missed my wrap-up for October, I won’t be missing this one, because I’m eager to share how I felt about what I read. So, I’ll dust off my blog writing skills and tell you all about the two books I managed to squeeze into stolen moments during what turned out to be an oddly busy and fast-paced month.
