My 2024 Reading Journal (+Free Bookshelf PDF)
This is the fourth year I’ve been using a reading journal, and once again I’ve kept quite a few of the same pages, but I’ve also added more pages than I’ve ever had before, though I’ve tried to keep most of them very simple. I wanted to fill out more space in my journal and do more to track my reading in a more personalised way.

5 Books I Want to Read Before the End of 2023
As the end of the year approaches, I’m increasingly conscious of how far I am from meeting my goal of reading 50 books this year. I have so many books I’m excited to read, yet I’ve been plodding along, taking forever to finish anything. Since I’m reading three books right now, I only have myself to blame. I’d probably have finished at least one if I could stick to it. Once they’re all finished, however, I’ll have time to read more and can inch closer to my goal.

Thanks to my TBR jar, I managed to read a couple of books that have been sitting on my Kindle for far too long, which I enjoyed so much that it inspired me to read another, and then another.
6 Ways to Start a Story
While I may have a problem with finishing stories, I have very few issues with starting them. The excitement and motivation that comes with piecing together a plot and populating a world with people and places will always have a certain allure to me, and it is part of the reason why I’ve never really feared the blank page. For me, starting a story, novel, or any piece of writing is the easier part.
I Got a New Kindle and I Love It
My first Kindle was given to me by my sister. She was upgrading to a newer model and kindly offered me her old one, which my younger self could never refuse. I took one look at the little buttons on each side to turn the page and the keyboard at the bottom and was stunned. A device on which I could pretty much instantly get new things to read with no stock issues and no need to leave the house? Sign me up!
Should Adults Read Young Adult Fiction?
I’ve been pondering this question for a while now, watching as each year passes and I’m pushed further and further out of the suggested age range. Every time I read a young adult book that makes me cringe too much or reminds me that I’m getting too old to relate, it comes back to me as I struggle to rate it. Is there a point in passing judgement on a book that was not written for me? Should adults be reading young adult fiction, anyway?
Monthly Wrap-Up – July 2023: Endless Pages
This month I ended up running out of steam with my last book, despite starting off the month reading at a good pace, so ended on my classic number of three books for July. It was a real mixed bag full of highs and lows even with so few books read, but here are the books I read in July.
